Background:
Brooklyn, NY swore in its first Postmaster in 1803 and continues that proud tradition with its 47th inductee, Postmaster Eddie Banner. He will take the oath of office at the Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Eddie Banner began serving as the officer-in-charge in this community since April 2019. His oversight of the Brooklyn includes the Main Post Office, 36 postal stations and 22 retail units throughout the city. Mr. Banner directs nearly 4,400 postal employees who serve approximately 2.6 million residents across Brooklyn’s 70.8 square miles.
Mr. Banner is an eight-year Navy veteran with 24 years of dedicated Postal Service experience.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
