Every Minute Counts During Crunch Time
New York, NY —Benjamin Franklin said it best: Time is money.
This holiday season, the Postal Service is giving customers the ultimate gift of what we all long for. More time to prepare.
Throughout Brooklyn and Queens, the Postal Service is adding Sundays into the schedule for package pickup. Now, beginning Nov. 24 and running through Dec. 22, customers can come to select locations for five Sundays in a row and we will be there to help.
With 56 locations in Brooklyn and Queens opening up between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – this gives customers a whole 1,120 extra hours!
Couldn’t we all use a bit of that?
That is an extra 67,200 minutes to prepare for the holidays. In the middle of the crunch, every minute counts.
“We wanted to add some wiggle room for people to pick up their packages,” said Brooklyn Plant Manager Anthony Rozier. “This holiday season, we will deliver more than 800 million packages nationwide between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Let’s face it, New York City is very populated and many of our customers enjoy shopping online – it’s more convenient. We are extending that convenience by making it easier for them if they missed our delivery. We think it is the service our customers deserve.”
Consumers don’t even have to leave home to ship their packages, simply visit usps.com. The Postal Service anticipates Dec. 16 will be the Postal Service’s busiest day online with more than 8.5 million consumers predicted to visit usps.com for help shipping that special holiday gift.
