The Postal Service is kicking off the 107th year of its iconic Operation Santa program at 11 a.m. on November 20. Join us as Santa shares his address (123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888) and as USPS continues the digital portion of the program for New York City, along with other cities around the United States. Second grade students from a local school will participate in letter-writing and singing festive songs after special excerpts from letters written to Santa are read. Letter-writing kits will also be passed out in post offices across the boroughs.

Background:
Operation Santa is a letter writing and letter adoption program enabling members of the public, charitable organizations and businesses to respond to letters from the public addressed to Santa Claus.
New York’s Operation Santa program opens to the public on November 18 at www.USPSOperationSanta.com and in-person adoptions can be made starting December 2 at the James A. Farley Post Office. For letters to be available for adoption they should be submitted as soon as possible and postmarked by December 14.
Individuals, organizations and businesses will be asked to provide valid identification and sign an official Operation Santa organization or individual participation form before accessing letters for adoption.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
