This is an opportunity to write a letter and learn more about the Operation Santa program.
Operation Santa is a letter writing and letter adoption program enabling members of the public, charitable organizations and businesses to respond to letters from the public addressed to Santa Claus.

Farley Post Office (421 8th Ave., Manhattan, NY 10001), Cadman Plaza Post Office (271 Cadman Plaza East, Brooklyn, NY 11201), Bronx GPO (558 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10451), Red Hook Post Office (615 Clinton St., Brooklyn, NY 11231), Jackson Heights Post Office (7802 37 Ave., Jackson Heights 11372), and the St. George Post Office (45 Bay St., Staten Island, NY 10301).
New York’s Operation Santa program opens to the public on November 18 at www.USPSOperationSanta.com and in-person adoptions can be made starting December 2 at the James A. Farley Post Office. For letters to be available for adoption they should be submitted as soon as possible and postmarked by December 14.
The mission of USPS Operation Santa is to provide a channel where people can give back and help children and families — enabling them to have a magical holiday when they otherwise might not — one letter to Santa at a time
The Postal Service began receiving letters to Santa Claus more than 100 years ago; however, it was in 1912 when Postmaster General Frank Hitchcock authorized local postmasters to allow postal employees and citizens to respond to the letters — this became known as Operation Santa.
