NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, January 17, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible starting Friday, January 17.

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Tuesday, January 21.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of Central Park West – between 59th Street (Columbus Circle) and 87th Street
  • All Collection Boxes at Columbus Circle
  • Both sides of Central Park South (59th Street) – between Columbus Circle and 6th Avenue
  • Both sides of 6th Avenue – between Central Park South (59th Street) and 40th Street
