MOUNT TREMPER, NY — After the 12 p.m. close of business on Saturday, February 22, retail operations at the Mount Tremper Post Office, 5458 Route 212, will be temporarily relocated to the Boiceville NY Post Office, 4117 State Route 28. The Mount Tremper Post Office is scheduled to be razed as part of the State of New York’s major infrastructure project in the area.
Mount Tremper Post Office Box customers can begin picking-up their mail at the Boiceville Post Office on Monday, February, 24.
At the February 3 community meeting at Shandaken Town Hall, postal officials gave an overview of the Mount Tremper Post Office relocation project, discussed the need for relocation from the 5458 Route 212 site, invited questions, and solicited input.
The public is invited to submit written comments about a new permanent location for the Mount Tremper Post Office by March 4 to: Kurtis Bullard, Real Estate Specialist, United States Postal Service, Post Office Box 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
