USPS Accepting Applications For Hopewell Junction Jobs

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NY —The U.S. Postal Service continues to fill vacant positions throughout the Greater Hudson Valley, including Dutchess County. This week’s openings are at the Hopewell Junction Post Office. Currently, applications are being accepted online through July 18 for PSE Mail Processing Clerk and through July 19 for Assistant Rural Carrier. These jobs have an exam requirement. Applicants for these positions who do not yet have an exam score are being invited to take the exam. Examining will continue until capacity has been reached.

For job descriptions, hourly rates, and to apply for these positions log onto the Postal Service’s USPS.com website. Click on “Careers” at the lower left hand side of the homepage. Select “Search Jobs,” then “New York.” Click on “Start” and then the link for the appropriate job. Job vacancies are posted frequently, so officials recommend checking-in daily.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver’s license and a clean DMV two-year driving history. Citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Questions about these openings should be directed to USPS Field Recruiter Raquel Martin at raquel.m.martin@usps.gov.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
