Services relocate with new home for office to be determined
Bloomville NY – Instead of accepting a change of address, the Post Office in Bloomville will file one after the close of business on Friday this week.
Postal officials have announced an emergency suspension, effective Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, for the Post Office located at 51948 NY-10.
Approximately 90 Bloomville Post Office boxholders will move to the Delhi Post Office, located at 8 Court Street. No change of address will be required for these postal customers.
In addition, approximately 500 Bloomville customers who receive mailbox service will not be required to change their address during this suspension. However, oversized or signature-required articles will be claimed at the Delhi Post Office effective Saturday.
Any mail that remains in the Bloomville post office, including the post office boxes, at the close of business on Friday will be moved to the Delhi Post Office and will be available on Saturday.
Box customers will receive updates on their post office box service during their first visit to the Delhi Post Office. Identification will be required.
Weekday business hours in the Delhi Post Office retail hours are 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm until 5 pm. The lobby is open from 7 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays. Saturday business hours in Delhi are 9 am to noon with the lobby available from 7 am to noon.
According to postal officials, no plans for a return to the Bloomville Post Office have been determined at this time as the Postal Service explores alternate locations to host that post office. No timetable for that process has been established.
