Street delivery uninterrupted as window services shutter temporarily
CAYUGA, NY – Postal officials are reporting that the Cayuga Post Office, 6198 Center Street in Cayuga, will reduce its operations due to the impacts of COVID-19 on the office’s staff.
Effective Friday, January 22, 2021, the Cayuga Post Office will suspend regular retail operations, commonly known as window service.
Delivery of mail for approximately 660 customers served on Cayuga’s two rural routes will continue.
The Cayuga Post Office lobby, which houses about 130 active post office boxes, is open weekdays from 6 am to 6 pm weekdays. On Saturdays, the office will remain open, without retail services, from 7:30 am until 12:15 pm until further notice.
There is no immediate timetable for return to full services.
Nearby offices for local residents to use for postal retail services like stamp sales, package shipments or money orders include the Union Springs Post Office, 116 Cayuga Street in Union Springs, or the Montezuma Post Office, 8109 NY-90 in Montezuma.
