MANHATTAN, NY – On, May 27, 2021, the Postal Service in New York City is recognizing Letter Carrier Anthony Puccio by dedicating the Letter Carrier Academy in Manhattan in his honor. Anthony Puccio, a 62-year Postal employee passed away in January. The Letter Carrier Academy, which was founded in 2005, will be renamed the Anthony Puccio Letter Carrier Academy during a virtual dedication ceremony.
Anthony Puccio became a letter carrier on December 20, 1958. He delivered mail out of the Triborough Post Office in Manhattan, to the same route, for his entire career.
On Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10 a.m., the Vincent R. Sombrotto Post Office will host a virtual ceremony celebrating and honoring his legacy.
The newly dedicated Anthony Puccio Letter Carrier Academy will be located at the Vincent R. Sombrotto Post Office 450 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017.
