LONG ISLAND — The Postal Service is gearing up for another busy holiday season and are looking to fill hundreds of positions in Long Island. To assist in the application process, Post Offices throughout the area are hosting job fairs.

Positions with immediate availability are city carrier assistant, holiday city carrier assistant, holiday clerk assistant, postal support employee and mail handler assistant.

Work opportunities range from seasonal jobs to positions with possible permanent appointment and a lifelong career.

To assist potential applicants, USPS personnel will be on-site to provide detailed information about the positions and answer questions.

Starting pay ranges from $16.87 to $18.69 per hour. Pay is bi-weekly.
