NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Thursday, December 30, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Thursday, December 30.

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Monday, January 3.

Please note this is a tentative list that is subject to change as additional information is obtained from the NYPD and other law enforcement sources.

• Both sides of 6th Avenue between West 34th Street and West 59th Street.
• Both sides of 7th Avenue between West 34th Street and West 59th Street.

• All collection boxes at Columbus Circle.
• Both sides of West 34th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
• Both sides of West 35th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
• Both sides of West 36th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
• Both sides of West 37th Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue.
