USPS Prepares for the 24th Annual NYC Tartan Day Parade

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove United States Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, April 8, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible Friday, April 8.  

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Monday, April 11.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of 44th Street between 6th and 5th Avenue.
  • Both sides of 45th Street between 6th and 5th Avenue.
  • Both sides of 6th Avenue between 43rd Street and 56th Street.
  • Both sides of 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue.

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
