NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Sunday, July 3, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Sunday, July 3.  

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Tuesday, July 5.

• Both sides of 1st Avenue – between 14th Street and 48th Street
• Both sides of 20th Street – between 2nd Avenue and FDR Drive
• Both sides of 23rd Street – between 2nd Avenue and FDR Drive
• Both sides of 34th Street – between 2nd Avenue and FDR Drive
• Both sides of 42nd Street – between 2nd Avenue and FDR Drive

Brooklyn

• Both Sides of Montague Terrace – between Montague Street and Remsen Street
• Both Sides of Montague Street - between East River and Court Street
• Both Sides of Remsen Street – between BQE and Court Street
• Both Sides of Pierrepont Place – between Montague Street and Pierrepont Street
• Both Sides of Pierrepont Street – between Pierrepont Place and Cadman Plaza West
• Both Sides of Furman Street – between Old Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue
• Both Sides of Old Fulton Street – between Furman Street and Cadman Plaza West
