NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Monday, September 19, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible Monday, September 19.

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Wednesday, September 28.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • B/S 1st Avenue between 40th and 48th Street
  • B/S 1st Avenue between 50th and 57th Street
  • B/S 48th Street between the FDR Drive and 1st Avenue
  • B/S 49th Street between the FDR Drive and 1st Avenue
  • B/S of 41st Street between the FDR and 1st Avenue
  • B/S of 46th St. between 1st & 2nd Ave. (Turkish Consulate)
  • B/S East 51st Street, Park – 5th Avenues
  • B/S East 50th Street, Park-5th Avenues
  • B/S Madison Avenue, East 49th-East 51st Streets
  • W/S Park Avenue, East 50th-East 51st Streets
  • B/S of 52nd Street, Madison to Park Avenue
