The Postal Service will officially swear in the new Postmaster of Jamaica, NY – continuing a two-century-old tradition.

Background:

Jamaica, NY swore in its first Postmaster in 1797 and continues that proud tradition with its latest inductee, Postmaster Dermot Tuohy. Mr. Tuohy will take the Oath of Office at the Queens Borough Hall.

His oversight of Jamaica includes the Main Post Office, 18 postal stations and 5 retail units throughout the area.

Mr. Tuohy is a Marine Corps Veteran with 28 years of dedicated Postal Service experience.
