NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Saturday, May 6, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible on Saturday, May 6. Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Monday, May 8.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

MANHATTAN:

  1. Both sides of Trinity Place between Battery Place and Church Street.
  2. Both sides of Church Street from Trinity Place to 6th Avenue.
  3. Both sides of 6th Avenue between Church Street and West 59th Street.
  4. Both sides of West 59th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue.
  5. Any/All collection boxes in Central Park between West 59th Street along East Drive and ending at Central Park North.
  6. Both sides of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd between Central Park North and West 135th Street.
  7. Both sides of West 135th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd and Madison Avenue Bridge.
  8. Both sides of East 63rd Street between FDR Drive and 2nd Avenue.

BRONX:

  1. Both sides of East 138th Street (Off Madison Avenue Bridge) to 3rdAvenue.
