MEVILLE, NY — The Long Island Postal Customer Council (PCC) conducted a virtual meeting on June 28. The event was open to mailers and helped provide them with changes in pricing, the power of direct mail, informed delivery, enhanced augmented reality, USPS promotions and programs and USPS Connect. There were 34 attendees.
The meeting included Long Island Postal Service leadership, Postal Customer Council members and guest speakers including USPS District Sales Manager Andrea Horsford Dumas and USPS Director Revenue and Volume Reporting Fiona Machado.
“The direct mail advertising market is expected to grow from $43 billion in 2021 to $46 billion in 2026 and reach $48 billion in 2031,” said Horsford Dumas. She discussed marketing in a hybrid environment as well as relevant and emerging trends.
Machado briefed members on current products and services.
“We know that ease and convenience are priorities for you. That’s why we are making it simple to order USPS Connect Local Flat Rate boxes and envelopes right through the Click-N-Ship application—at no charge to you,” said Machado. “And with free Package Pickup, you can spend less time making trips to the Post Office and more time focused on growing your business.”
There are 144 PCCs across the nation. With roots dating back to the 1961 formation of Citizens’ Advisory Councils, today’s PCCs seek to help industry members grow and develop professionally through networking, educational programs, and access to Postal Service professionals.
“The Postal Customer Council history has a proven track record of success and has sustained its reputation throughout the decades,” said Long Island District Manager Frank Calabrese.
“Locally, our Long Island PCC is proud to be part of this success, and we look forward to growing our membership. We encourage any local business to join us,” he added.
After taking a break for July and August, the PCC will reconvene in September. National PCC Week takes place in September; for more information contact LIPCC@usps.gov.
