USPS Hiring Fairs Seek City Carriers for Nassau County

USPS is Looking for Committed Individuals to Fill Immediate Openings

NASSAU, NY — Post Offices across Long Island are hiring applicants for the holidays and beyond. Positions with immediate availability include City Carrier Assistants.

To assist applicants in the process, Post Offices in Nassau County will be hosting October job fairs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.:

  • Oct. 4, Hicksville Post Office 185 W. John St., Hicksville, NY 11801
  • Oct. 6, Levittown Post Office 180 Gardiners Ave., Levittown, NY 11756
  • Oct. 10, Floral Park Post Office 35 Tulip Ave., Floral Park, NY 11001
  • Oct. 11, Garden City Post Office 830 Stewart Ave., Garden CityNY 11599
  • Oct. 11, East Meadow Post Office 446 E. Meadow Ave., East Meadow, NY 11554

These job fairs are part of the U.S. Postal Service’s 10-year plan, “Delivering for America” to build a more stable and empowered workforce.

City Carrier Assistant: $19.33 per hour paid bi-weekly.
Delivers and collects mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions in a prescribed area; maintains professional and effective public relations with customers and others, requiring a general familiarity with postal laws, regulations, products and procedures commonly used, and geography of the area.
