USPS Prepares for the September 11th Memorial Day Service

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Tuesday, September 10, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Thursday, September 12.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of Church Street between Park Place and Albany Street.
  • Both sides of Cedar Street between West Street and Church Street.
  • Both sides of Liberty Street between South End Avenue and Broadway.
  • Both sides of Vesey Street between North End Avenue and Church Street.
  • Both sides of Barclay Street between West Street and Broadway.
  • Both sides of West Street between Albany Street and Murray Street.
  • Both sides of Washington Street between Albany Street and Barclay Street.
  • Both sides of Greenwich Street between Albany Street and Barclay Street.
  • Both sides of South End Avenue between Liberty Street and Albany Street.
  • Both sides of Little West Street between Second and Third Place.
