USPS Prepares for the Staten Island Half Marathon

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Saturday, October 12, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Monday, October 14.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both side of Bay Street between Slosson Terrace and School Road
  • Both sides of School Road, to include Lily Pond Ave. and Father Capodanno Blvd. between Bay Street and Midland Ave.
  • Both sides of Father Capodanno Blvd. between Midland Ave. and Maclean Ave.
  • Both sides of Mclean Ave. between Father Capodanno Blvd and Battery Rd. (Mclean Ave. becomes Battery Rd.)
  • Both sides of Battery Rd. between Mclean Ave. and New York Ave.
  • Both sides of New York Ave. between Battery Rd. and Coast Guard Dr.
  • Both sides of Marshall Rd. between New York Ave. and Drum Rd.
  • Both sides of Drum Rd. between Marshall Rd. and New York Ave.
  • Both sides of side of Hudson Rd. between New York Ave and Mont Sec Ave.
  • Both sides of Mont Sec Ave between Hudson Rd and New York Ave
  • Both sides of Bay St between Mont Sec Ave and Hylan Blvd.
  • Both sides of Hylan Blvd. between Bay St. and Edgewater St.
  • Both sides of Edgewater St. between Hylan Blvd and Front St.
  • Both sides of Front St between Edgewater St and Hannah St
  • Both sides of Hannah Street between Murray Hulbert Ave and Bay St.
