What:

An annual event honoring veterans of the United States Postal Service will take place at the Mid-Island Processing and Distribution Center on Friday, Nov. 8.

The event will feature keynote speakers, poetry, personal stories, refreshments, singing of the national anthem and the presentation of the colors by the American Legion.

The Postal Service is a leading employer of veterans, with just under 10 percent of its workforce veterans. There are over 350 postal veterans working on Long Island and Queens combined. Nationally, the Postal Service has over 100,000 veterans in the ranks.

The Mid-Island Veterans Memorial serves as a backdrop for this outdoor event. Rain or shine.
