NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Tuesday, December 3, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Thursday, December 5.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of West 48th Street between 5th and 6th Ave
  • Both sides of West 49th Street between 5th and 6th Ave
  • Both sides of West 50th Street between 5th and 6th Ave
  • Both sides of West 51st Street between 5th and 6th Ave
  • Both sides of 5th Ave between 48th Street
  • Both sides of 5th Ave between 49th Street
  • Both sides of 5th Ave between 50th Street
  • Both sides of 5th Ave between 51st Street
  • Both sides of 6th Ave between 48th Street
  • Both sides of 6th Ave between 49th Street
  • Both sides of 6th Ave between 50th Street
  • Both sides of 6th Ave between 51st Street
