USPS Prepares for the Times Square New Year's Eve Celebration

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Monday, December 30, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Wednesday, January 1.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of Broadway, in between West 39th Street and West 57th Street.
  • Both sides of 7th Avenue, in between West 39th Street and West 57th Street.
  • Both sides of 6th Avenue, in between West 39th Street and West 57th Street.
  • Both sides of 8th Avenue, in between West 39th Street and West 57th Street.
