STATEN ISLAND, NY — The U.S. Postal Service recently installed Ann Ko as the 13th Postmaster of Staten Island, NY. The special oath-of-office ceremony offered employees and Staten Island community members an opportunity to commemorate the postal leader’s new role in the borough.
Postmaster Ko assumes responsibility for administering retail and delivery operations for around 500,000 Staten Islanders. She is supported by over 600 employees who provide retail services through 13 locations and deliver to more than 161,000 residential and business delivery points across the borough’s 58.5 square miles.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ko moved to New York City in 1999 and began her postal career in 2001 as a Sales Service/Distribution Associate at the Syosset Post Office in Long Island. She has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility such as, Syosset Supervisor Customer Service, Glen Head and Levittown Postmaster, Delivery/Customer Service Programs Manager, and New York 1 District Finance Manager.
She has also served as the New York District Manager of Operations Integration, where she managed cross-functional integration and administrative activities of communications, finance support and strategic district support.
Postmaster Ko began serving as Acting Staten Island Postmaster in the fall of 2023. She was joined by her parents, husband and 10-year-old son.
