USPS Prepares for the Annual Dance Parade/Dance Fest

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, May 16, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Monday, May 19.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of 18th Street between 5th Ave and 7th Ave
  • Both sides of 17th Street between 6th Ave and 7th Ave
  • Both sides of 6th Ave between 18th Street and 8th Street
  • Both sides of 8th Street/St. Marks Place between 6th Ave and Avenue A

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and to use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
