Temporary Closure of the Clayton Post Office
CLAYTON, NY – Due to safety concerns, the Clayton Post Office, 236 John Street, is temporarily closed until further notice.
Current Clayton Post Office Box customers can retrieve their mail at the:
La Fargeville Post Office
36327 State Route 180
La Fargeville, New York 13656
Monday – Friday 8:45 a.m. until noon, and 1 until 3:45 p.m.
Saturday 9 until 11 a.m.
Be prepared to show a photo ID when claiming your mail.
Mail delivery in Clayton will continue as normal. However, customers will be directed to the Watertown Post Office, 232 Commerce Park Drive, Watertown, to pick up vacation mail, signature-required items, or oversized articles.
A timeframe for a return to Clayton has yet to be determined.
