BETHPAGE, NY — While many are just getting back to school, holiday preparations have started at the United States Postal Service.

In Queens and Nassau, the Postal Service has open positions for packages processing at the large distribution centers including Bethpage, Mid-Island (Melville), Flushing, JFK International Service Center and Western Nassau.

Positions with availability include mail handler assistants, city carrier assistants and postal support employees.

Positions available innclude:

Mail handler assistant: $19.02 per hour paid bi-weekly. In this role you will load, unload and move mail and packages.

City carrier assistant: $20.73 per hour paid bi-weekly. In this role you deliver and collect mail on foot or by vehicle in a city area.

Postal Support Employee: $20.48 per hour paid bi-weekly. In this role you will perform a variety of clerk duties required to process mail using automated mail processing equipment or manual methods of sorting and distribution.
