USPS Prepares for the Annual Dance Parade and Dance Fest

NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, May 15, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until they are reopened on Sunday, May 17.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of West 18th Street between 5th Avenue and 7th Avenue
  • Both sides of West 17th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue
  • Both sides of 6th Avenue between West 17th Street and West 8th Street
  • Both sides of 8th Street/St. Marks Place between 6th Avenue and Avenue A

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and to use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
