Information:

The Ashland Post Office, 530 Claremont Avenue will be dedicated in honor of former Ohio Senate President Bill Harris on April 18, 2019 at 11 a.m.

Mr. Harris served as a United States Marine for 23 years and was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Vietnam Medal of Honor. After Mr. Harris retired from the military in 1977, he served as the Chairman of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Board Member for the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University and then went on to serve as the Ohio State President from 2005 to 2011.

On December 6, 2018, legislation to designate the Ashland, OH Post Office building as the “Bill Harris Post Office” was signed into law by President Trump. The legislation was championed by U.S. Congressman Bob Gibbs.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
