USPS Recognizes Richard Jamison For 50 Years of Service

Background:

In 1969, the cost of a postage stamp was six-cents, it was the year of the moon landing and Mr. Jamison began his federal service career. Before joining the Postal Service, Mr. Jamison was a member of United States Air Force and served oversees in Germany.

On May 15, 2019 the Postal Service will conduct a recognition ceremony for Mr. Jamison. In front of family, friends and co-workers, this Columbus resident will be honored for his long-time service and commitment to his job and community.

USPS will be holding a ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2019 to celebrate the historic Post Office. Envelopes and postcards with the above cancelation will be available for purchase.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
