Background:

On January 15, 1819, the Ross Post Office was established. The building stands giving a reflection of history and allows the community to learn about the towns past. Postage stamps were not used when it first opened because stamps were not introduced until 1847.

USPS will be holding a ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2019 to celebrate the historic Post Office. Envelopes and postcards with the above cancelation will be available for purchase.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
