Postal Service sets up temporary mobile delivery unit for tornado impacted residents

Dayton, OH — To serve customers in Dayton that were impacted by the tornado and cannot travel to a post office, a temporary mobile unit has been established. For residents that are unable to receive mail because of destroyed homes, mailboxes, and difficult access to the communities, they can pick up their mail at the mobile unit. The unit will be selling stamps and can only accept cash as a form of payment. The unit will be parked in several locations on the following dates:

Customers are required to provide their delivery address and a valid photo ID in order to pick up their mail.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
