Young woman with Down Syndrome to be Letter Carrier for a Day

Postal Service delivers on her wish

Background:

21-year old Grace Flannery is a young woman with Down Syndrome and from a young age has dreamed of becoming a mailwoman. On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, Grace will be joining the postal team to become a carrier for a day. She will spend time with Letter Carrier Melissa Tilton where they will start at the office and continue to the street to deliver the mail.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
