The Postal Service will present the Postmaster General Hero Award to Youngstown Letter Carriers Brain Baber, Terry Helsel, Benjamin Dickey and Ian Wade for their heroic actions.
Baber found a 91-year old woman with Alzheimer’s disease lost wandering the street and took her back home safely. Helsel performed the Heimlich on a woman that was choking. Dickey assisted an elderly woman that fell and was unable to move. Wade found an eight year old boy that was alone looking for his parents.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
