Potential Relocation For The Columbus Ohio German Village Station Post Office And Comment Period

What:

In 2021, the U.S. Postal Service® is relocating the German Village Station Post Office.  Our Lease expired and we are unable to renew.

Sent in Lieu of Community Contact Meeting

Background:

The current location is obsolete and therefore USPS is unable to conduct our on-going operations. The USPS® proposes moving to a building of approximately 1500 square feet with a number of parking spaces as well as city parking within the zip code limits. The proposed new facility will maintain the same level of service.  The Postal Service is also considering consolidating the retail operation into our proximate carrier facility located at 1612 Lockbourne Road.

The reestablishment of services is approved, and Postal retail services will remain in the community at a different physical location within the same geographical ZIP Code area now to include both 43207 and 43206. There will be no changes to mail delivery, customers’ addresses or Post Office Boxes as a result of this reestablishment. Retail Services will continue at the current site until such time as all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, instead of a public meeting, we are inviting you to send your comments on the proposal to the following address within the next 30 days:

ATTN.: Columbus Ohio German Village Station
United States Postal Service
P.O. Box 27497
Greensboro, NC 27498-1103

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
