Background:

Darnell Sorrels will be officially installed as the Lima Postmaster.

Sorrels began his career in 2015 as a City Carrier Assistant at the Salina, OH Post Office. He was first promoted as a Supervisor Customer Service in 2018 at the Findlay, OH Post Office. In 2019 Sorrels was promoted as Postmaster of Coldwater, OH and in 2022 he served as Postmaster of St, Mary’s, OH.

Prior to his career with the Postal Service, Sorrels served as a Corporal for 6 years in the United States Army.

“Just as the Postal Service provides a vital service for our nation, the staff of the Lima Post Office will proudly continue that same public service in this community,” said Sorrels. “As a part of Delivering for America, the U.S. Postal Service recognizes and celebrates our most valuable resource, our employees.”

As Lima Postmaster, Sorrels oversees delivery to 58 city routes and 13 rural routes. He manages 122 employees.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
