Background:

The Avondale Post Office, 3943 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229, will be dedicated in honor of U.S. Army Corps Pilots John H. Leahr and Herbert M. Heilbrun on September 9, 2022, at 9:00 am.

On March 11, 2022, legislation to designate the Avondale Post Office building as the “John H. Leahr and Herbert M. Heilbrun Post Office” was signed into law by President Biden. The legislation was championed by U.S. Congressmen Steve Chabot and Brad Wenstrup.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
