CINCINNATI, OH — William D. Jones, who was born and raised in Kinston, NC, has been appointed Executive Manager for the Ohio 2 District effective September 24, 2022.

As the district manager, Jones is responsible for overseeing a workforce of more than 8,200 employees who provide retail and delivery service to customers in over 640 Post Offices, stations, and branches. The Ohio 2 District has 2.6 million delivery points that are serviced by 4,250 city and rural routes.

In 1991, Jones began his postal career as a letter carrier for the Saint Paul, Minnesota Post Office. He has held positions of increasing responsibility including supervisor, customer services; manager, customer services; and manager, customer service operations, all in Minnesota. In 2016, he was selected as the Executive Postmaster for the Minneapolis Post Office.

Jones is a proud veteran of the United States Army. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Communication from Augsburg College. He is a graduate of the USPS Managerial Leadership Program, Executive Leadership Program, Executive Foundations Program, and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
