U.S. Postal Service to Hold Public Meeting in Platter, OK, December 20

Meeting to discuss potential new postal retail services

PLATTER, OK — The U.S. Postal Service is considering the potential relocation of retail services that were provided at the Platter Main Post Office, located at 313 2nd St., Platter, OK 74753, to a new, yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the existing Post Office location in order to better serve postal customers in the community.

The U.S. Postal Service will be hosting a public meeting at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Platter Main Post Office, located at 313 2nd St., Platter, OK 74753. Officials with the Postal Service’s Facilities Department will be there to share information and answer questions.

Postal customers, including those unable to attend the December 20 meeting, may submit written comments to the following address:

The Postal Service will consider all comments prior to making its final decision. All comments and recommendations received by January 21, 2019, will be considered.

A public notice, along with a copy of the Postal Service’s letter to Commissioner Ron Boyer, is currently posted in the community.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
