OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Oklahoma City has been selected as the pilot site for a new career position – Postal Vehicle Operator (PVO) - that will add up to 200 new career employees to the Oklahoma City Postal Team. This is a rare opportunity for successful applicants to join the Postal Service as career employees. To assist potential applicants, USPS Oklahoma City is hosting a job fair on Tuesday, December 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the location listed below. Attendees should park in the retail parking lot at the front of the building.

Successful applicants for the PVO position will begin their postal career as part-time career employees, which means they will be eligible for health and leave benefits on their first day of employment. After two weeks, these employees will be converted to full-time career status, with guaranteed 40 workhours per week. Starting pay for this position is $25.70 per hour. A Postal Vehicle Operator regularly operates postal and leased vehicles, that do not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), to regularly pick up and transfer bulk quantities of mail between postal and non-postal facilities. This is a career position which offers excellent benefits. Newly hired employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). Upon hire, employees are eligible to contribute into the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is similar to 401(k) plans. We also offer the option to enroll into the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program as well as the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI). Dental, Vision and Long-Term Care Insurance Programs as well as Flexible Spending Accounts to cover eligible out-of-pocket health care and dependent care (day care) expenses are also available. We offer extra pay when working on a federal holiday (11 per calendar year) as well as accrued vacation and sick leave.
