Oklahoma City P&DC Celebrates Date Meets ZIP

Oklahoma City P&DC Celebrates Date Meets ZIP

What:

On Thursday, 7-31-25, the Oklahoma City P&DC 73125 and Greater Oklahoma Postal Customer Council will celebrate an event that happens only once a century. “Date Meets ZIP” occurs when the date matches the location’s ZIP Code. A custom pictorial postmark has been designed and will be available for customers to commemorate this rare event.

When:

Thursday, July 31, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Where:

Oklahoma City Processing & Distribution Center Lobby (near the flagpole), 4025 W. Reno Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73125

Background:

The possibility of a location experiencing a Date Meets ZIP event is quite rare. It only comes around once every 100 years and, for some post offices, it never occurs at all, making this a reason to celebrate.

Along with the custom postmark, a special postcard will be available for purchase from the Greater Oklahoma Postal Customer Council. Residents and businesses may also bring their own postcards/envelopes or items can be purchased at the onsite retail unit to receive the postmark.

USPS will also provide this collectible postmark via U.S. mail for 30 days. Simply send stamped cards or envelopes in a larger stamped envelope to: DATE MEETS ZIP, ATTN: Tina Good, 4025 W. Reno Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73125-9998.
