USPS Announces Final Decision to Relocate Retail Services at Washington Post Office

WASHINGTON, OK — Following a previous proposal, and after reviewing all public feedback, including customer comments, the U.S. Postal Service has made a final decision to relocate retail services from the Washington Post Office, located at 214 N. Main St., Washington, OK 73093, to a new tentative location at 241 N. Main St., Washington, OK 73093. If an agreement on this property cannot be reached, the Postal Service will consider other sites within the area defined in the postcard sent earlier to the community.

The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as were provided to our customers at the Washington Post Office. Plans are to continue to offer services at the Washington Post Office location until the new facility is open and operating as a Post Office.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Washington, OK, community, the USPS properly considered community input, and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.
