Background:

As Oklahoma City Postmaster, Acord oversees delivery and retail operations at a total of twenty stations, branches, and finance units.  The Oklahoma City Post Office team is made up of approximately 946 dedicated individuals, serving an estimated population of more than 715,000 people. Ranked as the 20th most populous city in the U.S., Oklahoma City postal operations include a total of 481 city and rural routes combined, which, in fiscal year 25, delivered more than 198.4 million pieces of mail and packages.

Acord began his career in 1994 as a City Carrier in Stillwater, OK. He served in this capacity until joining the managerial ranks as a Supervisor, Customer Services at the Sheridan Station in Tulsa, OK.

Throughout his career, Acord has taken on numerous roles of increasing responsibility in customer service, further sharpening his skills.  This includes serving as Manager, Customer Services at the Northeast Station and Robert Jenkins Station in Tulsa, OK; at the University Station in Dallas, TX; and in Plano, TX.  Prior to his appointment as Postmaster of Oklahoma City, Acord served as Postmaster in Kansas City, KS and, most recently, as Postmaster in Tulsa, OK.

A graduate of the USPS Managerial Leadership Program (MLP) and Management for Field Leadership (MEFL), Acord is Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt Certified. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Southern Area Vice President Award and Western Area Vice President Blue Star Award.
