Manages USPS Services for the Molalla Community
Molalla, OR — Alexander Yzaguirre is Molalla’s newest Postmaster and says he is, “very excited to be in my new position.”
Yzaguirre started his career in 2015 as a mail carrier in Aloha. Two years later he moved to supervisor in training and was quickly promoted to the supervisor position in Beaverton in 2018. He was promoted to Postmaster of the Molalla Post Office last month.
As Postmaster, Yzaguirre’s office delivers to more than 7,000 customers, with nine delivery routes. He oversees 18 employees, his office has more than 1,100 PO Boxes and provides standard retail services to the community.
The customers in the community will benefit from his experience and professionalism. And as Postmaster, he takes his role as part of the “Delivering for America” 10-year plan to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence to heart, “It will not be uncommon to see me delivering out in my city.”
In the eight years since joining the Postal Service Yzaguirre has seen some changes, “delivery wise, seeing that the Postal Service does not stop delivering for anything. As the saying goes through rain, sleet, snow, and now through pandemic, the post office delivers.”
Yzaguirre said he joined the Postal Service for better pay than his previous job. But stayed because he appreciated there was more to the job than just good pay.
“Then after a few years [I] understood what we actually do and how much Americans rely on our service just to live every day. After realizing that it was a no brainer to stay.”
Yzaguirre has been married for six years but has known his wife since middle school. They have a soon to be three-year old daughter and a dog.
In his downtime he likes to go to the beach, play video games, watch movies, and take family trips.
