One Resolution That’s Easy to Keep With Help From the Postal Service
A New Year means a chance to start fresh. Perhaps a new job is on the list of things to do for the new year. The Postal Service has you covered, including a few direct career hire positions in Portland.

The Postal Service continues to aggressively hire in many locations across the country. With a workforce of more than 635,000, USPS is one of the nation’s largest employers with ongoing attrition needs.

There are also immediate openings for direct career hires into city carrier positions throughout Portland. As a career employee all available benefits start on the first day. Starting pay for city career carrier positions begins at $22.13 per hour.
Job postings are open until the available positions are filled. Listings may be used to fill multiple positions.
Visit www.usps.com/careers, click on “Apply Now”. Enter the keywords “carrier”, select “Oregon” from the location drop-down menu, and click start. The specific job listing will say “career job with benefits”.
Career positions offer excellent benefits from day one. City positions are paid bi-weekly. See individual job announcements for full details and descriptions.
Employees will be available to help fair attendees with benefits, qualifications, and application questions. Laptops will be available on the day of the event for immediate application submission.
Starting pay for non-career positions varies depending on the job. But starting pay for carriers ranges between $19 and $20 per hour paid bi-weekly. Applications are accepted online at www.usps.com/careers.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Although in some instances, interested candidates can also be 16 with a high school diploma. Applicants must also be available to work weekends and holidays.
