PITTSBURGH, PA — Not all work at the Postal Service is processing, transporting or delivering mail. With over 240,000 postal vehicles on the road, qualified automotive technicians are needed to maintain the postal fleet.
Currently the Postal Service is looking to hire multiple automotive technicians at the Pittsburgh Vehicle Maintenance Facility located at 1136 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh.
Scheduled work hours are 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a starting annual salary of $63,658 paid bi-weekly.
To assist filling these positions the Postal Service will be hosting the following job fair:
Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Benefits include health and life insurance, a retirement plan with employer contribution, annual and sick leave, as well as ten paid federal holidays.
Applicants must be 18 years of age, be able to pass a drug screening and a background investigation, possess a valid driver’s license, and have two years of driving experience with a good record. In addition, Postal Service Test 943 and Test 944 must be successfully passed to demonstrate knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to automotive systems.
