MIFFLIN, PA – The Postal Service has proposed to relocate the Mifflin, PA Post Office formerly located at 112 Main Street, Mifflin, PA 17058.

A postcard was sent on July 25,2025, asking for community input on the relocation. The Postal Service has carefully considered the concerns and comments received from the public. The decision has been made to proceed with a new space project at 298 Mowery Street, Mifflin, PA 17058.

As background, due to environmental concerns at the former location, the Postal Service was forced to close location and search for and identify a new location. The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as were previously provided to our customers at the former location, as well as at the current temporary location. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the current temporary location until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.

While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Prospect community, the Postal Service properly considered community input, and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives. Postal Service operations are not supported by tax dollars. To be self-sustaining, the Postal Service must make decisions that ensure it provides adequate and affordable postal services in a manner that is as efficient and economical as possible.
