USPS Carriers Inducted Into Prestigious Million Mile Club

USPS Million Mile Carriers, Colleen Sweeney and Michael Frank.

STATE COLLEGE, PA — Letter Carriers Colleen Sweeney and Michael Frank were inducted into the National Safety Council Million Mile club today with more than 60 years combined driving excellence

The Million Mile Club is part of the Safe Driver Award program created by the National Safey Council highlighting drivers with 1 million miles of driving or 30 accumulated years driven without preventable accidents.

The Safe Driver Award is the trademark of the expert driver and is recognized as the nation’s highest award for professional safe driving.

Postmaster Brenton Fitzpatrick congratulated and acknowledged their accomplishments. “This award represents our relevancy in the community making safety for our drivers and customers a priority”.

“Times have changed since I began in 1994. There seems to be more distractions for drivers, and it keeps getting more difficult and very important keeping a safe mindset”, said Sweeney. “State College is unique with many students and constant transient traffic from year to year. So, it’s important to be mindful and take your time not only for service but safety as well,” said Frank.

In addition to the Million Milers, 18 employees were recognized with zero accidents totaling 120 years.
