Special Focus on Customer Convenience, Appointments Not Required
Passports are a strong addition to any travel toolbox. Whether going to international destinations because of work, school or pleasure, you can apply for passports at the Amherst Post Office during scheduled times but also at special hours on three Saturdays this summer.
To align with busy summer schedules, the passport fairs are Saturdays from 1 – 4 p.m. on July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21 at 200 Middle Highway, Barrington RI.
The Postal Service recommends reviewing the detailed guidelines for preparing passport applications, a list of the necessary supporting documents, and the current processing times at travel.state.gov. Appointments are not required but customers are encouraged to show up early, as applicants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis while time permits.
Passports take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to process so take advantage of these Post Office dates and times, whether it’s simply for obtaining official identification or getting ready for an across-the-border trip this summer or fall.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
